October Dinner Meeting: Civil Engineering and Government Policy

Tuesday, October 22, 2019 - 05:30 PM - Wednesday, October 23, 2019 - 12:00 AM

Registration is open for our October dinner meeting!

This month's meeting will feature a presentation centered on the intersection between Civil Engineering and Government Policy.

We'll have a conversation with Reeves Brown of Building a Better Colorado, (BBCO), and a former member of the Hickenlooper cabinet regarding Prop CC, a measure on the November ballot aimed at increasing infrastructure funding across the state. Our conversation will focus on how this referendum and TABOR affect our work as civil engineers, and why it's important for us to be involved with government relations across all levels.

One way the Denver Branch has stayed involved has been by developing the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card, which is set to be released to the Capitol in January. Our Government Affairs Chair, Sarah Klarich, will share how the report card is developed, how we use it to our benefit, and how to leverage our engineering backgrounds to inform our lawmakers and benefit our community.

We hope to see you there! Contact us with any questions at
