Southeast Helicals
I have worked in the construction business since 1979.
I was employed by RPR Construction as a Project Superintendent
and Project Manager. I also owned my own company, T-Top
Construction, for several years – specializing in residential
construction and remodeling.
In 2004, I moved into sales in the Helical Piers industry. I have
sold well known brands such as A.B. Chance and MacLean Dixie
and for the past six years, have worked at Southeast Helicals as a
manufacturer’s sales rep for Ideal Group.
My position requires a thorough understanding of geo-technical
reports, project plans, design, the bidding process, etc. and I also
provide “technical support”, many times delivering on-site
consulting and installation assistance to our customers. I have
performed countless foundation inspections and Helical Pier Load
Tests over the years.
I have hosted many “Lunch & Learn” Seminars over the years and
have found this to be a vital tool in educating potential customers
on the value of helical piers.

Southeast Helicals
I started PPT in 1979 as a post tension installation company with a truck
and two employees. When I sold PPT at the end of 2017 fiscal year the
company had eight divisions with over 60 employees and approximately
$15,000,000.00 in sales revenue.
One of the eight divisions of PPT was the pier division which included
helical piers or piles. PPT started installing helical piers in new construction
in 2003 and became the largest single user of helical piers in new
construction in the United States. Prior to installing helicals I had over 20
years’ experience installing concrete drill shafts.
I not only ran the company but headed up the pier division and often
participated as PPT’s helical project manager, project superintendent, head
installer(operator), and of course laborer. I have personally installed
Helicals in about every conceivable method, manner, and location. I have
installed helical sizes from 1 ½” RCS to 8” pipe. To date the deepest
helicals we have installed is 128’ for a canopy for an operating Sam’s club
in New Orleans LA.
My ownership in PPT necessitated a thorough understanding of all aspects
of foundations from basic interpretation of geotechnical reports to final
foundation design.
I have been qualified in several local courts and two federal district courts
as expert in foundation design, soil slab interaction, deep support
foundations, post-tension foundations, foundation remediation, foundation
investigation & forensics, drilled piers, and helical piers.
