February Monthly Lunch Meeting

Join us for our February lunch which will feature a presentation by the San Jose YMF Vice President, Kari Nelson (Kimley-Horn and Associates), about the Menlo Gateway project in Menlo Park. 

 

The Menlo Gateway project, which is currently nearing the completion of construction, consists of an office (to be leased by neighboring Facebook, Inc.), an Autograph Hotel by Marriot, a fitness center, and a garage facility. Kari will discuss the scope of the project, project phasing, the design components, and the construction phase. Lastly, she will cover the challenges her team faced during design and coordination, as well as the resilient solutions.

Kari Nelson

Kari Nelson is the ASCE San Jose YMF Vice President. Kari graduated from the University of Arizona in 2015 with her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. She was an active member of the ASCE Student Chapter and was also involved in hosting the 2015 ASCE Pacific Southwest Conference (PSWC) in Tucson, Arizona.

 

Kari is currently working for Kimley-Horn and Associates on the Land Development team. As a project engineer, she has assisted clients in identifying and meeting their goals for site development, water resources, and infrastructure projects. A majority of her work has been to provide engineering design for commercial site developments, including utility layout and engineering support for water, sewer and storm drain systems for private developments throughout California.
