October 11 Luncheon at SP2

Wednesday, October 11, 2017 - 11:45 AM - Wednesday, October 11, 2017 - 05:00 PM

You are invited to join us for our October lunch which will feature a presentation by Ven Prasad (VTA) about the Santa Clara Pedestrian Undercrossing.

This undercrossing provides pedestrians and cyclists with access to the Caltrain/ACE/Capital Corridor platform and El Camino Real from Brokaw Road. With 80 feet in length, this crossing is similar to a tunnel and runs below three Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks. Construction required a halt to rail service and cutting about 200 feet of railway and excavation. The cut-and-cover construction utilized 14 precast concrete box units that were set in place to create the floor, walls, and ceiling of the pedestrian tunnel.
