School Outreach

During Engineer Week, engineers visit local high schools to talk about the opportunities available in engineering.  As, Engineer Week approaches, the outreach program is looking for volunteers to share experiences with high school students who may be interested in our profession.

The presentations are approximately 45 minutes long and are scheduled between February 17 and February 21.  Please contact Thai Tran to discuss presentation times.

MathACES

The test for MathACES is administered by Manatee Community College (MCC) and the County Math Departments.  The tests are given during the school day at each school by the main math teacher. The tests are drafted, distributed, collected and graded by MCC.

Mike Elfers is looking for volunteers to present the MathACES award to the student with the top score at each individual high school.  At this time, exact dates are not known, however, presentations are from the beginning of May to the first week in June. The awards are usually presented at the Senior Awards Ceremonies.
