Bridge Engineer - Sedgwick County

Sedgwick County Public Works has a dynamic opportunity for a civil engineer with experience in bridge design and inspection. This position manages the approximately 600 bridge structures within unincorporated Sedgwick County. The successful applicant will have strong communication skills, be dependable and detail-oriented, work well in a team environment, and have the ability to serve as the county’s subject matter expert for bridge structures.

Project Engineer - Transportation      

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team in Wichita, Kansas to continue the tradition of providing reputable service to our clients.

 Responsibilities in this position will include:

 

  • Assisting in the design and creation of construction documents on a wide variety of transportation projects.
  • Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control plans, safety features and maintenance of traffic plans.
  • Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, quantity computations, specifications, and cost estimates.

Project Engineer - Water Services      

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer in Wichita, KS to join our established Water team. The Project Engineer will be led by a Project Manager on a team consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and CAD technicians focused on the production of design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, sections, details and specifications. The Project Engineer must be capable of working closely with clients to ensure their expectations of service are exceeded.

This position will be responsible for engineering calculations and detailed design for a variety of projects, such as:

  • Water distribution and wastewater collection, including pumping and storage
  • Sewer distribution and collection, pumping and lifts
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Improvements and retrofitting of existing treatment facilities
