ASCE E-Week
We need your help! Each year, the Western Michigan Branch participates with other area engineering organizations to host an E-Week event at the Grand Rapids Public Museum for student of area schools. The students are given the opportunity to see several engineering disciplines and are provided hands-on opportunities to learn about our profession. This year the civil engineering stations include concrete cookies and bridge design. These stations rely on volunteers!
Volunteers are needed on February 18, 19 and 20 from 9:30 to 3, and on the 21st from 10 to 3. Volunteers receive free parking, a lunch voucher for the museum cafe, and free admission to the museum (including the current exhibit, "Real Pirates," which tells the story of the Whydah, a pirate ship that sank off the coast of Cape Cod nearly 300 years ago). What a great way to pass on your civil engineering knowledge and passion to the next generation! You must sign up for a time slot, so contact Dan Hula to sign up for the concrete cookie station, and Jennifer Byle to sign up for the bridge design station.
