Apurva grew up in Mumbai and graduated with Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering in 2012. Apurva later moved to Atlanta to pursue Master’s degree in Advanced Structural Engineering from Georgia Tech and graduated in 2014. After graduating, she worked in Atlanta and Miami, before moving to Denver and joining Jacobs Engineering as a Bridge Engineer in 2018. Her early career mainly focussed on designing structural elements of bridges, but she is now a Transportation Project Manager and Next Gen Client Account Manager for Central Federal Lands. A good conversation starter with Apurva is her work on seven bridges in Hawaii (one of which recently won ASCE Region 8 Best Transportation Project Award) and anything to do with National Park Services. In her spare time, she like to play board games, host game nights, read, swim, and bake. Ever since moving to Denver, she has also taken up exploring and hiking around National Parks. Apurva is a dedicated STEM advocate for low-income groups and young girls. She is Program Director at Tech Girl Power (nonprofit for girls) and also a Math tutor for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade through Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES). Every Spring semester, Apurva teaches an after school Civil Engineering – Transportation class at Denver University. Apurva is also Bridge Corp. Mentor for CU Boulder through Engineers in Action (EIA) and an active member of Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) – Transportation YOU committee.
