Volunteer Opportunity: Habitat for Humanity!

Habitat

We are fortunate to partner with Habitat for Humanity at their Mountain View Homes Construction Site - we have 10 spots for this program April 13th, 2024. Habitat for Humanity was established in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. The Fullers wanted to address poverty housing on a global scale through “partnership housing”. The Fullers' concept of partnership housing centers on those in need of adequate shelter working side-by-side with volunteers to build simple, decent houses. Habitat homeowners' partnership includes contributing "sweat equity" by building alongside volunteers and taking home-ownership classes. Habitat homeowners pay an affordable mortgage on their homes.

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver was established in 1979 by a group of passionate volunteers. These volunteers worked tirelessly to fundraise, acquire land, select families and manage all of the logistics to build the first Habitat homes in Denver. Since then, Habitat Metro Denver has become one of the largest affiliates in the U.S., celebrating the construction of our 600th home in 2016. Today Habitat for Humanity has served more than 1 million families around the world, completing the construction or repair of a home at the rate of every 4 minutes.

What should I wear:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes (hiking shoes or boots, leather boots or a solid pair of athletic shoes) are required for volunteers.
  • Wear clothing that can get dirty, ruined and/or paint-covered.
  • Please bring a refillable water bottle and sack lunch
