Dr. Matthew Bray

Matt Bray is a faculty member of the Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  He teaches courses in cold regions engineering and geotechnical engineering.  He is the current instructor for Arctic Engineering at UAF.  He has over 20 years of experience in permafrost and frozen soils covering topics such as permafrost geology, thaw settlement, mechanical properties and behavior, frost heave, and thermal properties.  Matt has extensive experience testing the mechanical properties of frozen soils with an emphasis on creep behavior of undisturbed permafrost soils.
