Also to be announced at the Annual Meeting, we are excited to introduce two new awards: The YMG Student Member of the Year and The YMG Supporting Member Award. These awards will be chosen by our Young Member Group Board with agreement from the Branch Board. The Boards will identify candidates and may also consider suggestions of candidates from ASCE members and students. 2026 Annual Student Scholarship Competition
Purpose
To support civil engineering students who have demonstrated an interest in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the advancement of the civil engineering profession.
Awards
Student scholarships in the amount totaling $2,500.00 will be awarded to the winning student(s). Winner is chosen based on the applicant's specific civil engineering involvement, goals, job skills, academic record, and response to the essay. The award will be made payable to the student’s university for payment toward tuition fees.
Eligibility
All undergraduate students who will be enrolled in the 2026 Fall Term at any of the below-listed schools:
- University of Detroit Mercy
- Wayne State University
- Lawrence Technological University
- University of Michigan
- Michigan Technological University
- Eastern Michigan University
Students working with co-op programs during the 2025 Fall Term are also eligible.
Applicants must be registered ASCE student members by Fall 2026.
Applications must be returned no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026.
