July Branch Meeting
Join us this month for an insightful presentation featuring Tom Palko from Metro Water Services (MWS) and Barry Moran from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as they discuss the history of the Cumberland River and the rationale for increasing the base flood elevation.
Tom Palko will provide an overview of the Cumberland River’s historical significance and its impact on Middle Tennessee and the Nashville area. Barry Moran will follow with a more technical perspective, outlining the USACE’s evaluations and ongoing collaboration with MWS to support a coordinated approach to managing the river. To conclude, Tom will share the next steps for MWS in response to the updated flood data provided by USACE and how the agency plans to implement these changes.
The July Branch Meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Brentwood Library.
Registration closes on Monday, July 21st.
