May Nashville Branch Meeting

Thursday, May 15, 2025 - 11:30 AM

Please join us this month to hear from Nadia Fantello and Jill Guthrie from S&ME as they speak about geophysical applications for civil structures.

Nadia and Jill are both geophysicists and will speak on how engineered structures such as bridges, pavements, dams, and landfills require thorough understanding of the subsurface to make informed decisions. We will explore geophysical techniques used in engineering applications, offering real-world case studies to demonstrate their value across various sectors. Through non-invasive methods like ground-penetrating radar (GPR), seismic refraction, and electrical resistivity tomography, geophysics provides accurate, cost-effective insights into subsurface conditions, allowing engineers to optimize designs and reduce project timelines.

The May Branch Meeting will be held on Thursday May 15th from 11:30am-1pm at the Brentwood Library, Registration closes on Tuesday May 13th.
