Indiana is known as the “Crossroads of America.”  The northwest Indiana is the mecca for civil engineers, providing challenges that encompass an unlimited range of engineering needs.  We are surrounded by some of the world’s largest steel manufacturing plants: major oil producing companies; auto parts manufacturing facilities; thousands of small business; and extensive infrastructure including roads, bridges, and rails that transport goods from one end of our country to the other.

The focus of our ASCE branch is establishing relationships with local and state agencies that deal with our infrastructure, private manufacturing plants, the construction industry, as a whole, as well as provide professional development opportunities for engineers.  We believe it is vital to be involved with engineering educators and students who are interested in engineering, particularly at Purdue University Northwest and Valparaiso University, and strive to build a strong bond between the student chapters of ASCE and practicing professionals.
