January 2024 Lunch Meeting - ASCE SLO
Please join us on Thursday, January 18th to enjoy lunch & a technical presentation on the Five Cities Multimodal Transportation Network Enhancement Project. Robin Bordon from Caltrans will be delivering the presentation. Come hear how the project team plans to enhance traffic operations and the multimodal network.
Project Background:
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is proposing to widen the inside shoulder of the highway from the San Luis Obispo Creek Bridge to the railroad overhead in Pismo Beach to serve as a part-time travel lane strictly during periods of heavy traffic volumes. The project also proposes a new Mobility Hub including a park-and-ride lot in Pismo Beach, widening of four existing bridges, and construction of a retaining wall between US 101 and Price Street at the Pismo Rock. The purpose of the project, which is sponsored by San Luis Obispo Council of Governments (SLOCOG), is to provide efficient operation of US 101 through Shell Beach and Pismo Beach in the southbound direction during periods of heavy traffic volumes.
