Presentation: "Enhancement of Flexible Pavement Performance"

Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - 12:00 PM - Tuesday, April 20, 2021 - 05:00 PM

The enhancement of Flexible Pavement performance by creating a Mechanically Stabilized Layer (MSL). The MSL is composed of a layer of Tensar TriAx geogrid and aggregate. The placement of TriAx geogrid in the aggregate results in an aggregate layer stiffness improvement. The increased modulus of the MSL results in a higher level of performance. Increased reliability, extended life and/or component thickness reduction provides for cost savings and life-cycle cost improvement. The Presentation will go through the analysis of Mechanically Stabilized Layers and provide some case histories of this application.
