December Branch Meeting
Program:
Are Owner's Getting What They Pay For? Performance Specifications & Lessons Learned During Construction
Description:
Very often, project design is performed meticulously and the ever so tedious task of writing specifications doesn't have much time to be completed. Also, most specifications are written simply based around a material vs. how the material is designed into a project. When it comes time for construction, this specification can be challenged and can impact an owner's end product. This can end up being a lesson learned during construction, but what other seemly small decisions can make a major impact on end performance? These things will be discussed in the context of soils and pavements, but the same principles can be translated to other design aspects of Civil design.
