Branch Facts
The American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 150,000 members of the civil engineering profession in 177 countries. Founded in 1852, ASCE is the nation's oldest engineering society.
The Southwestern Branch of the Michigan Section was formed in 1970 and operates under the leadership of the Michigan Section ASCE Group. Since the Branch’s inauguration, its members have been actively involved in the advancement of the civil engineering profession in the Southwest Michigan area. The Southwestern Branch of the Michigan Section of ASCE allows civil engineers who live or work in Kalamazoo and surrounding counties to network, build leadership skills, participate in professional development opportunities and create lifelong professional connections. We are continually looking for motivated volunteers to aid in the success of our outreach initiatives!
