The Nashville Branch’s Younger Member Group would like you to be a part of what we do. Our mission is to create opportunities for our Younger Members to develop professionally and personally through active participation in social, educational, and community service events. Kenny Fields is a Nashville native and attended Tennessee Tech University, graduating in May 2016. Kenny has been at Neel-Schaffer since 2016 working in the structures department and involved with projects for local municipalities. Since his time at Neel-Schaffer he has worked on design-build, owner’s representative, retaining walls, IDIQ, paving and drainage contracts. He has also been in CEI roles for airports and bridge inspections. Kenny joined the United States Army Reserves as an engineer officer in 2019 and deployed to Jordan in 2021 serving as a project manager overseeing troop labor projects. In his free time, Kenny enjoys kayaking on Percy Priest Lake, making wooden bowls on his lathe and bowling.

Emily is a native of East Tennessee and moved to the Nashville area after college. She is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and received a B.S. in Civil Engineering in May 2016, and a M.S. in Civil Engineering in May 2018. Emily is currently a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.. where she is a project manager for various types of geotechnical projects. She enjoys the challenge of interpreting field data into results her clients can use to make informed decisions. Outside of work, Emily enjoys recreational kayaking, reading, and hanging out with her Australian cattle dog named Finn.

Mishell was raised in Cape May, NJ, and graduated from the University of Delaware in May 2021 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Sustainable Infrastructure. During her time at the university, she actively participated in the Engineers Without Borders student chapter, holding the position of secretary for two semesters and continuing to contribute to international projects afterward. In 2022, she relocated to the Nashville area to pursue a career in Site Civil Engineering, currently working in the Building Engineering Service group at HDR Engineering. During her free time, Mishell finds joy in sailing, traveling to new places, reading, and going on walks with her Westie, Max.

Nisha grew up in the Nashville area and attended Vanderbilt University where she graduated with her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering in May 2021. Nisha has been working with WSP in their Civil group since graduation. At WSP, she primarily works on roadway design projects and conceptual transportation corridor studies for TDOT and local municipalities. Nisha is currently pursuing her Master’s in Civil Engineering part-time through the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In her free time, Nisha enjoys hiking at state parks around Middle TN, traveling to new places, spending time with friends, playing tennis, and listening to music.

Konner is a Nashville area native growing up in the Gallatin and Hendersonville area. Before graduating from Tennessee Tech University in Civil Engineering in December 2015, Konner worked an internship with Rogers Group and Kimley-Horn. Konner started working for TDOT in 2016 in Strategic Transportation Investments Division (STID) shortly after graduating. In STID Konner was responsible for developing and managing planning level reports including bridge replacement projects, corridor widening projects, Road Safety Audit projects, State Industrial Access packets and Interchange Access Reports, and earning his PE in 2020. Late 2023, Konner has transitioned to TDOT Project Management managing the development of resurfacing and safety projects. In his free time, Konner enjoys spending time with his family and raising his two daughters aged 5 and 3.

Natalie is a Roadway Engineer with STV Inc. in Franklin, TN. Natalie specializes in roadway design and has worked on various road, bridge, and drainage projects throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and Florida. She enjoys the technical challenges of civil engineering and the positive impact that projects have on their respective communities. Natalie is originally from the Atlanta area and is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, where she earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Outside of engineering, Natalie enjoys playing tennis, traveling to new places, and cooking.
Nick grew up in a civil engineering family in Nashville. He attended Tennessee Tech University and graduated with his B.S. in Civil Engineering in May of 2017. After completing two prior internships with TDOT, Nick joined the TDOT Region 3 Project Development office in Nashville, where he is a roadway design team lead. In addition to designing a variety of transportation projects, Nick assists in mentoring senior design groups at Tennessee Tech as well as interns and new employees at TDOT. In his free time, Nick likes to ride bikes on Nashville’s Greenways, build concrete lamps, and go to Nashville Predators games.
