Lisa Denke, currently serving as the Membership-Publicity Chair, has a diverse background in mechanical, process and civil engineering.  After graduating from the University of Wyoming in Electrical Engineering in 1993, she took a job as a field engineer in oilfield pumping services, and worked in the oil and gas industry in design and operation of wells, pipelines and processing facilities until 2012.  She returned to UW to prepare for the P.E. exam in Mechanical Engineering, and took the exam in 2014, returning to the oil and gas industry until a downturn at the end of the same year.  She took coursework in Civil Engineering at Colorado State University and found work in the land development industry in the northern Colorado area.

Starting in 2012, Lisa taught seminars on oil and gas operations.  After multiple interns stopped by with questions about mechanical details of wells, she recognized the need for a backgrounder for employees in diverse jobs.  Using materials on her desk, she developed a presentation, which she later expanded into a five-day short course.  She taught this course, as well as courses on hydraulic fracturing and wellbore integrity, for EUCI in cities including Houston, Denver, Pittsburg, Columbus, Bakersfield, Long Beach and Midland.  She developed in-house courses tailored for clients including the California Air Resources Board; PETEX for the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources; Seneca Resources; and for Cowrie+ on behalf of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company.  In 2020, the COVID pandemic closed the venues and airports, ending this business line.
