ASCE Luncheon to be Held on Facebook Live
Fellow ASCE Members:
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions, the ASCE Baton Rouge Branch has elected to reformat our luncheon scheduled for March 19. The ASCE Branch will now be hosting our speaker, Congressman Garret Graves via a Facebook Live session beginning at 11:45 AM on March 19.
Facebook Live is an interactive platform that will allow Congressman Graves to speak on the scheduled topic: WRDA and the Surface Transportation Reauthorization while being mindful of everyone's personal well-being. We feel this transition is in the best interest of all those involved, and we are excited be able to offer innovative benefits to our membership in this difficult time.
To access the session: Please log onto the ASCE Baton Rouge Facebook page, which can be found by searching @ASCEBatonRougeBranch within any Google search bar or within Facebook itself. Click on the “Videos” tab on the ASCE – Baton Rouge Branch Facebook page, and you will see an option to click on the “Live” Video. The video will be accessible at 11:45 AM.
Date: Facebook Live session March 19, 2020
Time: The session will begin promptly at 11:45 AM.
Typed questions may be submitted throughout the session. The Branch board will have limited representatives with Congressman Graves tracking questions to be sure all are addressed. We will also be on hand to track attendance during the event, and a PDH will still be offered for all of those in attendance. To log attendance, please type in your name (first and last) in the comment bar on FB during the online session so that we may capture it for PDH purposes.
The registration to the March 19 event has been closed. Any individuals who have already registered will be refunded their registration fee. There will be no fee for attending the live session. Any sponsorships for this event that would normally go toward offsetting luncheon costs will be donated to Juban's Restaurant, which has served ASCE well over the years and is undoubtedly feeling an economic impact from these COVID-19 safety measures.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we encourage everyone to stay safe. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Facebook.
Jarret E. Bauer, P.E.
