Fast Friday at Big Woods, May 15th

Every year, the ASCE MIB, in partnership with ITE, IRWA, ISPLS, and WTS, hosts an Indy 500 Fast Friday event. Fast Friday got its name because it is the last day of high-horsepower practice sessions before qualifying. With increased turbocharger boost, it is a prelude to Pole Day, pushing cars to the month’s highest speeds. As with last year, the event will be at the Big Woods outdoor Beer Garden and adjacent Saloon in Speedway. These two venues have a total capacity of 155 guests. Each year, the number of attendees continues to increase, with last year being 105. Big Woods has a parking lot, and there is ample parking along Main Street (Posted 3-hour limit).

This is an excellent networking event with an open bar and a friendly, light-hearted atmosphere! It’s also a good launching point if you’d like to go to the track afterward! SEI Happy Hour Event: A Great Success!

The energy from the INDOT Bridge Design Conference carried right into the evening as SEI hosted a lively Happy Hour at Loughmiller's Pub. It was the perfect way to unwind, reconnect, and keep the conversation going after a full day of learning.

At its peak, more than 35 members filled the venue, swapping ideas, building connections, and reflecting on the presentations from the day. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and to SEI for bringing it together! Events like this are what make our branch stand out. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next one!
