We've had a lot of great events in the past! For example:
- October 12, 2023. Dain Johnson of Rev 0 spoke on Strategies for Leading: With or Without Authority. Our student attendees were sponsored by HDR.
- October 10, 2023. The CSU Student Section hosted incoming ASCE Society President Marsia Geldert-Murphey, P.E., F. ASCE. Ms. Geldert-Murphey is a Regional Director with Lochmueller Group. She spoke on how ASCE has been a positive force in her career, and how students can benefit from belonging to ASCE. Her detailed and thoughtful presentation will be useful to the students in the future.
- February 9, 2023. Dylan Hoehn of Engineering Analytics spoke on the Lawn Lake Dam Failure, which flooded the town of Estes Park.
- January 12, 2023. Michael Kane of RTI spoke on River Systems modeling.
- December, 1, 2022. We had a tour of the Boxelder Sanitation District Expansion Project.
- November 10, 2022. We had a dinner meeting with Dr. Chris Thornton, PhD, PE, M. ASCE speaking on physical modeling at the CSU hydraulics lab to support modifications to Denver Water's Gross Dam.
- October 13, 2022: We had a dinner meeting with Peter Marxhausen, M.S., P.E. speaking on "Ethics Jeopardy!"
- September 17, 2022: Volunteers from the Professional and Student Chapters helped kids learn about building structures from toothpicks and marshmallows at the YES!Fest at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, sponsored by the High Plains Library District.
- May 16, 2022: Northern Colorado Young Professionals toured Basalite’s new automated concrete masonry products manufacturing facility at 1801 S Rollie Ave, Fort Lupton. The tour was led by CSU alum Matthew Gooderum (2011). See this article in the Fort Lupton Press: Automated Plant Changes the Face of Producing Concrete Blocks.
- March 10, 2022: We had an in-person meeting for the first time since the pandemic, at the Ranch in Loveland!! Dr. Thad Wasklewicz & Ben Kramka, P.E., both of Stantec, presented on Post-Wildfire Debris Flow Modeling. Their presentation featured information on impacts, loads, run-up heights, designing structures to mitigate impacts, and a DebrisFlow Predictor. They have run 9 different models.
- January 13, 2022: We had a panel discussion on Diversity in the Workplace. Click here to watch the panel discussion. Our panelists were Anna Ristuccia of Lithos, Christi Wisleder of Merrick & Company and President of the Rocky Mountain Section of SWE, Mike Kohler of Larimer County Elevate Leadership Workforce Development Training, Victor Sam of Stantec, and Luis Duque of Foothills Bridge Company.
- December 1, 2021: The CSU Student Branch held a Trivia Night Fundraiser.
- November 11, 2021: Raymond "Paul" Giroux, Distinguished Member of ASCE, gave a presentation from his Great Projects Series, "Building the Transcontinental Railroad."
- October 14, 2021: Joe Donnelly from the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District spoke on the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project.
- September 24, 2021: Bike Ride - Pedaling the Poudre (Trail)
- May 13, 2021: Caleb Stock from Tetratech spoke on Sinkholes on Wyoming Abandoned Mine Lands.
- April 24, 2021: ASCE Northern Colorado Branch Park Day. Mimi Williams headed up a day of fun outdoors to give us a break from the pandemic. We met at Twin Silos Park in Fort Collins and played lawn games. Thanks, Mimi!
- March 11, 2021: Dr. Robert Ettema of Colorado State University (CSU) spoke on Scour Concerns for Historic Masonry Arch Bridges in Ireland and the UK.
- February 11, 2021: Edward Stafford spoke on Future World Vision.
- January 14, 2021: Jill Roth from Stantec spoke on "Design using Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Rating System" for a Wastewater Treatment Plant.

- October 8 2020: Dylan Hoehn of Engineering Analytics presented on "St. Vrain River Restoration" following the 2013 floods.
