Deadline Tomorrow: ASCE West TN April Meeting Registration

ASCE West TN April Branch Meeting

Hello West Tennessee ASCE Member,

If you haven't registered for our April meeting, tomorrow at 8:00 am is the final deadline to do so.

Our April Branch Meeting will be held in-person at the Germantown City Hall (1930 S Germantown Road) on Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. John Gordon, P.E. will be presenting "Geotechnical Challenges of Gayoso Bayou in Downtown Memphis."

 

John Gordon, PE, is a Chief Engineer and geotechnical leader at Intertek-PSI with over 40 years of expertise in subsurface investigations and construction materials testing. A Registered Professional Engineer and Life Member of the ASCE, John oversees complex projects ranging from high-rise structures and hospitals to industrial facilities and transportation infrastructure. His technical proficiency encompasses seismic risk evaluations, deep foundation design, and pavement engineering, making him a vital asset in mentoring technical staff and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for diverse regional developments.

ASCE West TN Branch Kick-Off Meeting

The ASCE West Tennessee Branch held its annual kick-off meeting on Tuesday, September 16th at the Great Hall in Germantown, Tennessee. Student leaders from Christian Brothers University, University of Memphis, and UT Martin made presentations regarding last year's accomplishments and future plans for their student chapter. The annual branch awards were given out at the meeting. Connor Caskey from the University of Memphis received the Student Chapter/Club Member Award. The Young Engineer Award went to Evan Boulanger, P.E., CFM. Mr. Tom Lawrence received the Outstanding Engineering Educator award. Professor Gene McGinnis, P.E. from Christian Brothers University received the Nicole Craven Distinguished Service Award. The meeting topic was the Crump and I-55 Interchange. The presentation was by Justin McGill (Tennessee Department of Transportation) and Carl Chaifetz (Parsons).
