The ASCE West TN Branch is part of the Tennessee Section. Our branch covers most of the counties west of the Tennessee River. If you live in Memphis or Jackson; Dyersburg or Selmer; Martin or Lexington, this is your Branch!

Our branch also includes 3 universities that have civil engineering programs (University of Memphis, Christian Brothers University, and University of Tennessee at Martin), as well as a Younger Member Group and Geotechnical Group.

History

The Branch was formed in 1988 when the five ASCE sections of Tennessee merged to form the Tennessee Section and the former Mid-South Section (est. 1928) became the West Tennessee Branch. 

What We Offer

The West TN Branch hosts many professional development and social activities throughout the year. Lunchtime programs feature experienced professionals discussing technical and professional topics and are typically held in Memphis and Jackson. Each February in celebration of Engineer’s Week, the Branch holds an "Order of the Engineer" induction ceremony and a program dealing with ethics. In the summer we usually offer an educational "track" which could consist of an all-day seminar on a particular topic. We also offer an annual golf tournament, the proceeeds of which benefit our student chapters. In September, the Branch hosts its “Annual Kick-Off Dinner" featuring a high profile speaker and induction of Branch officers.
